Also referred as “Settlement brochures”, it is similar but different from an “Activities of Daily Living” aka “A-Day-In-The-Life”.
It is produced specifically to impress the opposing party that they don’t have much chance to win the case if it does go to trial. There are absolutely no restrictions whatsoever on the contents. I can use professional voice-overs, background music, scripts for the narrators, computer generated re-enactments, etc.
This documentary is a concise summation of a case and the final presentation is around 20 minutes long and resembles what you would see on the 60 minutes or 20/20 TV programs. The objective is to get the defense and insurance company to fully comprehend the pain and suffering that results from their negligence, malpractice or product liability. It is designed to pack an emotional punch, and therefore sets it apart from the standard printed “settlement brochure” which is presented in a notebook sitting on the adjuster’s desk, along with dozens of other documents. It is an emotional punch.
